Communication Networks with Students/Parents

One of the things that I will definitely do as a teacher is to make sure I have a way of communicating with students in- and out-of classrooms and parents. I think that the best way to do this is to create a class blog. Some of the things I will put on the blog are the syllabus, classroom/homework assignments, upcoming events, and all of my email addresses.
I will give the students the link to the blog and they can check it any time they need to. Also, if the students have questions about something, they can be sure to email me and I will respond back them.
I will also give a letter to the parents telling them about the blog. They will have a way of emailing me their questions as well as knowing what is going on in the classroom.
Not only will I be communicating with the students outside the classroom, but I will be communicating with them inside the classroom during their free time. I want to ensure that the students will be confidence in themselves, asking questions when they need to. I do not want the students to be afraid of asking questions because there are no stupid questions.
The best way for everything to go through smoothly in education is through education. If the students and parents do not communicate with me, then I will not know how to help them. Through communication, we can all help each other out!!!
